Heal On Purpose Inc.

From Shadow, to safe, to sacred

We are a non-profit organization committed to providing education and researching the social impact of sexual trauma on and in the Black community while simultaneously creating and providing resources that center Black people’s lived experiences.

About Us

Our Beliefs

We believe that historically underrepresented communities, like the Black community, are impacted by trauma in ways that are not understood, explored, or valued leading to a lack of appropriate resources to aid in facilitating healing.

We believe that no one is coming to save us so we must save ourselves, and as a culture, it is up to us to center US by being the creators of what we need.

Our Contribution

Research

Here we review, share, and conduct relevant research regarding the impact of sexual trauma on the Black community as well as on distinct groups within the community.

Education

We educate the people about the impact of sexual trauma through workshops, classes, seminars, group discussions, panels, collaborations, speaking engagements, and printed material.

Resource Creation

We are committed to creating, sourcing, and highlighting relevant, culturally competent, and accessible resources that aid in the healing of the Black community, groups within the community, and the individual.

Community

No More Silo is a movement and brave space where Black people as a collective are invited to Heal On Purpose in COMMUNITY!

What People Say

There is no other organization doing what this organization does and what they do is desperately needed, I am grateful that this type of place exists.

Talking about trauma, let alone sexual trauma has always been taboo in the Black community and has led to a lot of hurt, I am glad someone is talking about it now.
