Mission

Our nonprofit organization, Heal On Purpose Inc. is dedicated to advancing education and research on the profound impact of sexual trauma within the Black community. We strive to shed light on this critical issue, raise awareness, and foster a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by Black individuals who have experienced sexual trauma.

Through our commitment to comprehensive research, we aim to uncover the multifaceted aspects of sexual trauma within the Black community, exploring its historical context, cultural dynamics, and intersectionality with other forms of oppression. By generating knowledge and evidence, we seek to inform policies, practices, and interventions that are tailored to address the specific needs and experiences of survivors.

Education lies at the heart of our mission. We are devoted to equipping individuals, communities, and institutions with comprehensive and culturally sensitive information about the social ramifications of sexual trauma in the Black community. Our educational initiatives aim to create safe spaces for dialogue, offer trauma-informed resources, and promote healing, resilience, and support for survivors. Our goal is to empower individuals to become agents of change within their own communities, while promoting social transformation.

With a commitment to inclusivity, we center the voices and experiences of Black individuals, recognizing the diversity within the community. We amplify marginalized voices, such as Black women, Black men, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those often underrepresented or overlooked in discussions on sexual trauma. By elevating these narratives, we aim to dismantle systemic barriers, challenge harmful narratives, and foster a more inclusive and supportive society.

Ultimately, our nonprofit envisions a world where the impact of sexual trauma within the Black community is fully acknowledged, understood, and effectively addressed. We strive to create lasting change by advocating for equitable policies, collaborating with community partners, and fostering a culture of healing, compassion, and empowerment. Together, we can contribute to a future where every Black individual affected by sexual trauma can find solace, justice, and the opportunity to thrive.
