Trauma and Triggers
Very few people walking this earth have escaped experiencing some form of trauma.
Interestingly, some of us do not recognize that we have experienced trauma because it is simply a part of our lived experiences; it’s “normal” to us, and when we hear the word trauma, we dismiss the possibility that it can apply to our experiences.
In this class, trauma will be defined and we will review big “T” versus little “t” trauma so that we have the capacity to identify and acknowledge our own traumas as well as our triggers.
We will become more aware of how we’ve coped up to this point and determine whether those coping skills still meet our “right now” needs and what to do if they do not!
Life Transitions: Life In-Between
What is my purpose? Why am I here? What am I supposed to do now?
These are questions that many of us have asked ourselves at one point or another, and the truth is we are all here for a purpose. Whether that purpose is to continue our own soul growth for the benefit of our personal evolution or to utilize our growth to serve others. Both are necessary as we work to elevate our collective consciousness. The questions become, “What role do “I” play and how do “I” play it? Let’s find out!
Poor (Money) Perspective = Poverty Pockets
When thinking about our relationship with money, we may have unconscious blocks to abundance seeded via the messages we receive from family, the things we see in our communities, and the expectations/limitations propagated by society. We identify our current beliefs and how they align (or don’t) with our current needs.
Breathwork
Every being breathes – that’s why we yogis believe the breath to be the main source of prana, the life force. You can survive without food for up to about 40 days, as long as you have access to water. Without water, you may survive 3-4 days. But without a breath, you’ll be gone within only 3 minutes!
1/3 of the public has a breathing problem, and an inefficient breathing pattern causes both central and specific fatigue, making you feel generally tired all the time and working muscle groups “feel the burn” a lot quicker than they should. Both of these make people perform poorly physically and mentally.
A simple technique with great benefits, breath work has the capacity to bring immediate stress relief. Here you will learn not only why breathwork is a necessary addition to your daily self-care practice but also HOW it works in the body.
Seduce with Senses
A revolution is happening right now that has begun to create space for people to be their authentic selves regarding their sexuality, sexual identity, and presentation. It is a beautiful thing!
Unfortunately, those of us in our late thirties on up still struggle. Our individual programs, traumas, and the messaging we receive make it difficult to even look at how we feel when it comes to these things, let alone explore, acknowledge, accept, and love!
Here we are going to do just that! In order to be “Free 360 degrees” we need to love and accept ourselves in totality!
I can’t relate!
As humans, we are pre-disposed to be social beings, making creating healthy, reciprocal relationships very important.
When we think of relationships, we often think of romantic ones. However, typically our most impactful relationships are our friendships! Therefore, we are going to explore “relating” in general and how it differs across relationship types, as well as expectations for ourselves and others.
We will also learn that at the end of the day, ALL relationships are vehicles to increased self-awareness, self-love, self-understanding, and self-acceptance if we allow them to be…
My Body/My Image
Our bodies are the vehicles by which we navigate this life cycle. Our bodies have their own intelligence and needs. Unfortunately, society has reduced our bodies to ornamentation as an instrument for attention, validation, and exploitation. This has led to a very dysfunctional relationship with our bodies, which has become almost adversarial “Us versus It”! When in actuality, we are meant to operate in harmony, one informing the other.
Together we will identify the root cause of the fractured relationship and work to repair it.
Esteem
Our relationship with self can be impacted by so many things, from our attachments to our parents as kids to messages we get through media. We might not even admit to ourselves that our esteem is low. Here we create a space where it is safe enough, to be honest and vulnerable so that we can heal the wounds that have been left unattended.
Chiron: The Wounded Healer
Here at Heal On Purpose we use many tools, one being astrology. Belief is not necessary, only curiosity and an open mind. Lean IN!
Chiron in our natal charts points to where we have healing powers resulting from our deep spiritual wounds.
Ultimately, Chiron in astrology shows us how to learn from our pain and use it as a source of strength. It identifies some of our barriers and blessings!
It teaches us that our deepest and most sensitive wounds can be a bridge to the most profound forms of healing — for ourselves and for others.
Im Not Listening!
“I never understood how important it was to be understood until someone came along who really did understand”
Expressing ourselves in a way that gets our point across and our needs met is crucial to our feeling of belonging. We will focus on learning to communicate in a way that is both effective and productive and positions us as the authority over our lives.
Let’s build something great together.
