Heal On Purpose Inc.: Our story

Founded with a deep commitment to addressing the often overlooked and silenced issue of sexual trauma within the Black community, our nonprofit organization is a dedicated advocate for education and research. We strive to shed light on the profound impact of sexual trauma, offering a platform for truth, healing, and social transformation.

At our core, we believe that education is the first step towards change. Through our comprehensive initiatives, we empower individuals, communities, and institutions with knowledge, fostering a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by Black individuals affected by sexual trauma. By challenging stigmas, dispelling misconceptions, and promoting healthy dialogue, we aim to create a culture of empathy, support, and healing.

Driven by a commitment to rigorous research, we investigate the multifaceted aspects of sexual trauma within the Black community. Our studies delve into historical context, systemic inequalities, and cultural dynamics, providing insights that inform evidence-based practices and policies. We believe that research is a catalyst for change, and we strive to advance the field to create a better future for survivors.

Authenticity and vulnerability are at the heart of our work. We honor the stories and experiences of survivors, amplifying their voices and centering their needs. With unwavering integrity, we navigate the complexities of sexual trauma, recognizing the diverse experiences of Black women, Black men, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other marginalized groups. We stand united, committed to fostering a safe and inclusive space for all survivors.

Together, with courage as our guiding force, we are dedicated to unveiling the truth about sexual trauma within the Black community. By cultivating empathy, resilience, and social change, we strive to create a world where every survivor finds support, justice, and the opportunity to reclaim their power. Join us on this transformative journey towards healing and liberation.
